Don't Fear the Reaper

“Death doesn’t have to be so somber, you know?"

Don’t Fear the Reaper is a dungeon-crawler RPG where you play a Reaper, either a brooding Grim Reaper or a radiant Seraph Reaper. With the help of your spiritual manager, Pomp, you’re tasked with going through the soul of the controversial famous actress Natalia Destafino. The dying do not recognize they are dying, so you’ll need to fight through hordes of Agnosia representing denial and speak to Natalia’s various Mind Aspects to convince them to accept their death.

This game was made in 12 days for the Unlikely Collaborators Game Jam. We interpreted the “Perception Box” theme to focus on unraveling a single soul through a kaleidoscope of her perspectives. As you peel back layers of Natalia’s memories, you’ll question what it means to accept mortality. The deeper you venture, the more the lines between her denial and your purpose blur, challenging preconceptions of death, identity, and closure.

Controls:

- WASD - Movement
